Bob Irish is a senior associate with Dynamic Results, LLC. With an extensive history in senior management and strong leadership, he has developed team building skills and a record of achievement in strategic planning, building sales forces and strategies, general and technical management, and operations. As a former Chairman for Vistage, the world's largest organization of CEOs with 8000 members, Bob facilitated small groups of CEOs helping them increase their efficiency and enhance their lives. Currently fulfilling the role as CEO of a manufacturing company, Bob may be available for limited engagements.
Bob has strong analytical, strategic planning, and staff development experience with proven ability to institute structure and focus organizations to achieve goals and results. He applies experiences gained from the successes and failures in his own career, enhanced by the experiences gained in working with executive clients day-to-day.
Typical of Bob's consulting assignments is a semiconductor manufacturing company. When he was retained as a consultant, the company was under $20M in sales revenue and had never made a profit. It was losing about $1M annually and the venture capitalist investors had stopped investing. Bob lead the company through strategic planning and operational adjustments. Over the next four years, the company went from under $20M revenue to over $60M in revenue and posted almost $4M to the bottom line and then had a successful initial public offering. Bob says, "This was a situation where strategic planning was helpful but focused execution was the key."
In addition to planning and operations, Bob has helped numerous companies with difficult sales situations. One company, a manufacturer of high-tech production equipment had been pursuing a critical order for almost a year, only to be told at the last minute by the potential client that all purchasing was frozen and no orders would be generated for at least six months. This order and its initial deposit were critical to the company's cash flow and its efforts to raise an additional round of capital. Bob gave the VP of Sales a different strategy and in a few days, the company had the order it needed with no price decrease and the necessary deposit.
Many companies have benefited from Bob's understanding of people, processes, and cash flow. In numerous ways over the years, Bob has helped CEO's and their direct reports turn around difficult employees, increase the effectiveness and job satisfaction of above average employees, and facilitated company, committee, and board meetings to improve communications and reduce conflict while helping the company achieve its objectives.
Bob is a native of Dallas with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master's Degree from SMU. He began his career as an electronic design engineer and became Director of Engineering for a medical electronics firm. From there he transitioned to technical sales, eventually becoming VP of Sales and Marketing for a manufacturer of high-speed data communications equipment. He then founded his own company utilizing barcode technology for inventory control and warehousing. Starting that company with a telephone and a card table, he grew it for a number of years to $27M In revenue and sold it to a Fortune 1000 company. This was followed by engagements as CEO of an information services company that he tripled in size in less than four years, COO of a telecommunications company, and then CEO of a manufacturer of safes. Since that time, Bob consults with manufacturers and service companies.
